Senior Care & Companionship · Bay Area

A calm, caring presence when it's needed most.

I'm Jen — and for more than a decade I've been the person families call when they want someone steady, thoughtful, and genuinely good company. At home or out in the world, day or overnight, on a regular schedule or on short notice.

About Jen

A decade of caregiving experience, grounded in patience, presence, and a deep belief that older adults deserve to feel known.

Hi, I'm Jen nice to meet you.

I came to caregiving the way I came to most meaningful things in my life: by being asked, and showing up. Over the past ten years I've cared for elders managing everything from gentle aging to advanced needs, and what I've learned is that the work is rarely about tasks. It's about presence.

I'm calm, dependable, and unhurried. I read aloud. I cook a real breakfast. I notice when the light's right for a slow walk in the garden, or when today's the day to skip the appointment and just sit. When I'm not working, you'll find me on a trail somewhere — backpacking is my reset button, and I think it's part of why I do this work the way I do.

Caring for someone you love is one of the most tender responsibilities there is. Whether that's at home, in a care community, or somewhere in between — if you're looking for someone trustworthy to share a little of that weight, I'd be glad to talk.

How I Can Help

The kind of support that's hard to ask for — and even harder to find.

Care is shaped around the person. These are the engagements I most often take on — on their own, or in any combination that fits the moment.

01

Companionship

Outings, appointments, daily activities — real company at a real pace. Walks, meals, errands, conversation, or simply being there.

02

Short-Term & Respite Care

Coverage for family caregivers who need a break, and steady support during recovery after an injury, illness, or hospital stay.

03

Household & Tech Help

Sorting, organizing, simplifying online accounts, making sense of a new phone, and the small-but-overwhelming logistics of a move.

04

Overnight Care & Hospice Presence

A calm, reliable presence through long nights and tender ones. For families who want their loved one to feel safely accompanied.

05

Available on Short Notice

Some moments don't wait. When something shifts and you need someone dependable today, get in touch — I'll let you know what's possible.

06

Special Days & Projects

Weddings, anniversaries, hospital days, downsizing a home — bigger engagements taken on with care and discretion. Quoted per project.

Approach

How I show up every visit, every time.

Three things I won't compromise on, no matter what the day looks like.

No. 01

Patience over speed.

Aging asks us to slow down. I match the pace of the person I'm with — not the schedule on the wall. There's almost always time for the second cup of coffee.

No. 02

Dignity in every detail.

How someone is helped matters as much as what they're helped with. I work with care, with humor, and with deep respect for who someone has been and continues to be.

No. 03

Honest communication.

Families deserve to feel informed, never anxious. I keep notes, return calls, and tell you what I'm seeing — the small wins and the things worth watching.

Caregiving, at its best, is just paying attention. Everything good follows from that.

Flexible Scheduling

No minimum commitments. No rigid schedules.

Care should bend around your family — not the other way around. That's the biggest difference between working with me and working with an agency.

  • Short visits welcome. An hour for an appointment is just as valid as a full day. No minimum commitments.
  • One-off engagements, fine.A single wedding, a single hospital day, a single move — no need to commit to recurring care.
  • Short notice, when life calls. When something shifts suddenly, reach out — I'll tell you honestly what's possible.
  • Evenings, weekends, overnights.Care doesn't fit a 9–5, and neither do I.
